Timeline

2016

The time is flying and Chateau Monty SPA Resort has also been evolving and changing as well as its owners. Since 16th January 2016 Chateau Monty SPA Resort has become a chain hotel of GALA HOTELS.

 

2006

Overall renovation of the swimming pool and Roman baths was completed

 

2000

The hotel became a property of CIMEX GROUP and the reconstruction of accommodation section was completed within two months. OREA HOTELS became the hotel operator.

 

1990

The former name "Monty" was restored to the hotel.

 

1987

General reconstruction was completed and the hotel was re-opened as a spa hotel

 

1979

Leningrad hotel closed for renovation

 

1950

Since that year the property was used only for workers’ recreation; mainly those from the Soviet Union – thus the hotel was renamed "Leningrad" after them

 

1945

Café Egerländer was renamed "Monty" in honour of Chief
Commander of the anti-fascist coalition Marshal Montgomery.

 

1901

The building was transformed into its current form and named "Café Egerländer".

 

1890

Further buildings were added.

 

1886

Café and restaurant "Zum Egerländer" was built.

 

1857

The place became a favourite spot of two brothers Gaspar and Ernst Otto from Cheb who had a pavilion built there.

 

1828

A rest was established at today's place in honour of sealed friendship between spa guests from home country and abroad.
